So what is it you need? Well, we know that for the purpose of this exercise, it’s a coffee machine for 25 staff. Here are just some of the questions that will need answering before anyone can make a worthwhile recommendation.
  • Do you want it to produce Instant Coffee, Filter Coffee or both?
  • Do you want to add sugar and whitener from the machine or do you want to spoon it in afterwards?
  • Do you want the machine to produce other hot drinks apart from Coffee? Instant Tea? Fresh brew Tea (made from real tealeaves) Chocolate?
  • Will everyone who is going to use the machine be happy to drink the same strength drink, or do you need more flexibility?
  • Do you want chilled cold drinks?
  • Ambient temperature cold drinks? Carbonated cold drinks?
  • How much space do you have?
  • What sort of access is there?
  • Are there any Height, Width or Depth restriction?
  • Can you get water to the area?
  • Is there a power point?
  • Would you rather have a tank-fill machine, which requires no plumbing?
  • Do you want to give all the drinks away, some of the drinks away, or will you make a charge for some, or all of the drinks?
  • Do you want the coin mechanism to give change?

    …and this is just the start! I hope that by now you are starting to see how futile it is to expect a quotation through the post. It’s just impossible. There are too many options available. Of course, having worked your way this through this site, you’ll be in a much better position to know exactly what you want. You’ll be able to create your own specification, which you could discuss with each representative in turn. They’ll be impressed by your knowledge and will be less likely to try to pull the wool over your eyes!
