SEMI AUTOMATIC TABLETOP MACHINES

For the purpose of this exercise, I have classified semi automatic machines as those, which mix drinks from loose ingredients inside the machine, but do not dispense cups. Fully Automatic tabletop machines produce the drinks in the same way but have disposable cups stored in the machine, which are dispensed each time a drink is selected. I have included these machines in the chapter on Fully Automatic machines.

Although both types of machine can sit on a work surface, and are therefore technically tabletop machines, these machines are generally larger and more substantial than those previously mentioned. Ideally suited for businesses that want to provide hot drinks only, for around 15-25 people, Semi Automatic tabletop machines are becoming increasingly popular. As the Semi Automatic and Fully Automatic tabletop machines are about the same size, you will find that the semi Automatic usually has more options available.

In other words, something has to give way to accommodate the cups and cup-dropping unit. This should be considered when making your decision. Do you need disposable cups to be dispensed, or would you rather place a china cup into the machine? If you are ONLY going to use disposable cups, then the Fully Automatic machine is the best bet. If your staff and visitors are used to drinking from china cups or mugs, then the Semi Automatic machine is more than adequate.

(Remember that you can still use disposable cups with a Semi Automatic, the difference is that you have to physically put them in place, whereas the Fully Automatic machine dispenses them.)

When considering whether to use disposable cups or to continue using china cups you should consider the following. Using disposable cups
No washing up
More hygienic
No replacing chipped or broken cups
No collecting cups from around the workplace
Cost of cups recovered by time saved on above

There are a wide range of machines available, dispensing both Instant and Freshbrew drinks. The equipment can be quite sophisticated and offers both quality drinks and flexibility. Typically a Semi Automatic will offer Tea, Coffee and Chocolate. Some models will also provide Cappuccino, Creamichoc, EspressoChoc, Soup etc., Coin Mechanisms, with or without Change-giving facility are also available.
